Bitrig is hiring interns for 2026!

This is a paid, in-person internship based in downtown Mountain View, California (a short walk from the Caltrain station). Start date and internship length are flexible.

Job Summary

Do you want to help define the future of app development?

Bitrig empowers a new class of developer to build native apps for their phone, on their phone, just by chatting with AI. It’s powered by our one-of-a-kind Swift interpreter, engineered to instantly run Swift apps on iPhone without round-tripping through Xcode.

As an intern, you’ll join a small, fast-moving engineering team and work alongside passionate, creative colleagues who helped invent SwiftUI. This is not a “shadowing” or “side project” internship. The work you do will ship.

Interview Process

There’s no live coding, and we don’t ask any LeetCode-style questions.

Here’s what to expect:

  1. Submit your email application
  2. A 30-minute intro call with a lightweight technical screen
  3. A take-home assignment
  4. A 45-minute follow-up discussion of your solution

Key Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Swift
  • Ability to work collaboratively and explain complex ideas clearly
  • High standards for quality and attention to detail

Eligibility

Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited U.S. university, or must otherwise have U.S. work authorization for the duration of the internship. Students must be enrolled in the quarter or semester immediately following the internship.

Additional Experience

Experience with any of the following is a plus, but not required:

  • SwiftUI and Swift Standard Library design patterns
  • Programming language design and implementation
  • AI model APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic)
  • UI/UX design
